    Hey everbody. My current project is a neck thru V type guitar. Up to this point I have always ordered bodies from Warmoth with all the routing done. This time I am doing the routing and I need help on determining where to locate the bridge.

    The "Pure Tung Oil" Topic...

    I've done several guitars with tung oil. I've always used the Formby tung oil. Like CB I use many thin coats and I always buff with steel wool between coats. I've been pleased with results, but then I'm easy.  :toothy10:

    OK, well I'm not exactly married to the idea of using nitrocellulose. I imagine that I could use poly over the synthethic lacquer. The model community has some interesting possiblities as far a color goes.

    My last guitar is a poplar strat body form Warmoth. The grain was better than I anticipated so I stained it black with Colorburst Carbon Black and then did my first nitrocellulose finish. I used the Colortone gloss from Stew Mac. It turned really well for my first attempt and I learned a lot...
