    Do they even make these...

Been a while since I last posted, but I think I have a great idea for a "Super-Strat"... Essentially, I want to recreate the wiring options I did for my VIP I built in late '07, tailored for a Start guitar.  But not just any Strat - I'm wanting to build out a Start Double Neck (12 String High...

    Series/Parallel?

To answer the original question: Yes, Strat pickups are usually wired in series, while most humbucker loaded guitars are wired in parallel. ...then you have weird-o folks like me who set up HIS guitar to do both (via rotary pick-up selector switch and coil tap toggles).  Hey, why change...

    12 String Tune-o-matic?

Okay, I've seen a few people look at this thread, but no responses.  I'm guessing that it would be easier to illustrate what I mean, so I found a link to a 12 string electric on sale (a cheap-o guitar, but I think it will make my point as to what I'm asking). That's what I mean when I ask if...

    12 String Tune-o-matic?

I've been seeing some 12 string Tune-O-Matic bridges out there (and the dimensions look to match Warmoth's routing standard).  Any possible way to get 12 sting holes routed thru the body to accommodate such a bridge? Just curious, Eric "GuitarEC"

Sorry, but I'm a bit partial...  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=2247.0 Best guitar I have - bar none...  ...at least until I make my next one.  :laughing7: Eric "GuitarEC"

    Recording with Sonar

I use Sonar in my home studio - I got the "Power Studio" package which included a Firewire interface.  Great product and rock-solid sound quality.  I use it with my Pod XT and Pod X3, but I use the audio outs into the firewire interface.  I've tried recording direct using the USB interface on...

I have a Line6 Bass Pod xt but there's no software I can use for recording!

...um, am I missing something?  The Bass POD xt has a USB port on it.  With the right drivers (available for free on the line6 website) it serves as it's own USB audio interface.  (This assumes the Bass POD xt works just like my POD xt for guitar). All you would need is the software - no need...

    Question about showcase bodies...

I'm thinking about future builds (the first one came out so nice!!), and have this one question:  I want to get a VIP body, and use a surface mount (i.e. down-only) floyd rose.  I see and hear stuff about them needing to either shim the neck, or the neck pocket on the body.  Is this true for my...

    Bad SKB... No Donut!!!!

Well, CRAP!!!  After waiting for nearly two months for a back-ordered delivery from Guitar Center... The SKB-66 Universal Guitar Case (with TSA locks) is JUST too narrow for my VIP!!! So, now I have to try and find a good hardshell case to use with my VIP...  ...any suggestions? Eric "GuitarEC"

Strange Question - LPs and Les Paul Cases

I was curious how the extended scale (25.5 vs 24.75) affects the ability to use Les Paul purposed cases (i.e. from SKB and others) with a Warmoth LP build... Figured this would be the place to ask, Eric "GuitarEC"

    Sorry it's late...

Hey, wow Priebster - hadn't thought of that... Hey Gregg, how much you guys pay for promo pics?  :laughing7: Again, thanks to everyone here who helped me make my idea into the perfect guitar.  Thanks to all the folks at Warmoth for working to answer all my questions (some of which, I'm sure...

    Sorry it's late...

I ended up changing that wiring diagram (switching positions 1 and 3 - being that the bridge pick-up along would be the more used, I wanted it on the end).  I've got a copy of it somewhere on my PC - let me know if you're still interested... Also, I ended up getting my rotary switch from...

    Sorry it's late...

The two 3-way mini-toggles are coil selectors for each pick-up.  Allows me to select either coil individually, or together as a standard humbucker. The lower most knob is a 6 position / 4 pole rotary switch I use to select / configure the pick-ups.  Going clock-wise: Position 1 - Bridge Only...
