    Hot pickups with nice cleans

Damn, I had no idea Joel Stroetzel used EMG's.. I thought he used those Caparison humbuckers.. shame on me  :sad1: Anyway I checked the 81/SA/85 combo and I think it turns out rather well! Killer crunch on the bridge, smooth lead on the neck AND nice cleans on the SA  :toothy10: That sorts it...

    Hot pickups with nice cleans

I'm looking to put two humbuckers in my next build but I have no idea which ones.. Mainly using it for metal (trash, metalcore,...), the bridge humbucker should provide a crunching and bassy rythm tone and a sweet and full lead sound in the neck, both very articulate. The only problem is that...

    Custom guitar wiring

Would the rotary switch enable all possible configurations? (Bridge, Bridge-Middle, Middle, Middle-Neck, Bridge-Neck) And I don't know if this will make me look silly, but can you choose which of the singlecoils of the humbuckers are active after coil-splitting?

    Custom guitar wiring

I'm planning to build my own custom guitar this year. I know all the specs I'd like and will buy the parts from Warmoth, but I have some questions about the possibility of getting this wired (..and working). I'm absolutely no hero in wiring (in fact I've never done this before) but if necessary...

    Need help

I want to make my own custom soloist, but I know almost nothing about wiring and electronics  That's why I need your help! It'll have a HH-configuration, one volume and one tone knob and a three-way switch(simple, yet effective). The pickups I'll be using are the DiMarzio Evolution...

    Warmoth Soloist help (first build)

Good to know it's actually worth it  :occasion14: Is there any difference in tone between the plain, birdseye of flame maple necks?

    Warmoth Soloist help (first build)

I've send a request by mail, let's hope it'll work! To make it even more badass, 1st - 11th fret running to the right, a double diamond on the 12th, 13-24th running to the left  :toothy10:

    Warmoth Soloist help (first build)

Update: to make it even more custom I'm probably going to have my own logo on the headstock (sticker), I'll post the design once I scanned it. I also thought about a custom neckplate, maybe the custom neckplate maker-guy from this forum wants to make it, I still have to check with him.. Design...

The suggestion for the paint job and hardware is highly appreciated! Good idea thanks!  :icon_thumright: I've never tried SS frets, so I'd like to know a little more about them.. Thanks for the warm welcome and the help everyone! You rule  :icon_biggrin:

    Warmoth Soloist help (first build)

I know, normally I'd go with the trapezium inlays, but I saw someone's Warmoth guitar and it had the same type of inlays but with stars.. And you know how it works, if you see something you like, you have to have it too  :icon_biggrin:

    Warmoth Soloist help (first build)

Hey there everyone, I always wanted to make my own custom guitar, and the time has finally come!  :icon_biggrin: At first I wanted to build a strat, but there were problems with the 24fret extension and all.. then I ran into Jacksons (the Soloist) and I fell in love!! If you could just give me...

    Custom Uberstrat

Ugh I left it there... I wasn't sure about the Floyd at first, guess I forgot to remove the tuners  So: no locking tuners! It'd be nice if a 24 fret extension would be possible  :icon_biggrin:
