My first build in years ... the Plaidocaster!

My father always taught me to "measure twice, cut once". This was more like tape up, measure twice, re-tape, measure again, is this even straight?, what am I measuring again?, and finally drill. I always find this part a bit nerve wracking :tard: Think it looks pretty straight though. Onto the...

    EVH R.I.P.

Man. I can't tell you how many times I air guitar'd Eruption in my bedroom as a teen. Two minutes of music that changed the game, and inspired so many great players after him. Pour a little out for a guitar legend.

I thought this meant I could have my pick between a four screw vintage bridge and a three screw modern Fender bridge. Although the placement of the attachment holes differ (above...

My first build in years ... the Plaidocaster!

Locking tuners installed! I decided to go with a reverse headstock as a bit of a hat tip to Hendrix, but then I had a little trouble finding exactly the right spec tuners in lefty. Turns out they are 100% reversible! So after a youtube clip, I was able to take apart the tuning peg, pop the shaft...

Eeeee! It's here! Roasted Flame maple neck

My neck doesn't have that stamp, but it did come with a card that states the following: "This neck is warranteed to be free of defective materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. The warranty will be void if the neck is played without a hard finish, such as...

Eeeee! It's here! Roasted Flame maple neck

I love that it's very flamey, but also subtle ... flame visibility can change with the angle.  :toothy12:
