bear with me guys .. trying to learn .. if i get a strat w/rear rout control and hsh pup rout, will i be able to use woodmount rout and short pup screws to mount to pickguard OR (if i choose) mount pups to wood with or without pup rings, or do you have to have the screw recess holes in pup rout...

what is the REASONING behind trem covers not being recessed like rear rout switch covers ? would look so much better, IMO
