:o
I didn’t even think of that. It is more for aesthetics than anything. I may have to try this on some pickups I have laying around. From demos online the APH-2’s sound a lot like Gibson Burstbuckers which I like so I may still end up ordering a set.
I’d say to check out the Gibson Burstbuckers. I have them set up on one of my guitars and I love their versatility. One thing to keep in mind is that pickup tone can vary depending on their placement in the guitar body. So, when you hear what pickups sound like on one guitar, the tone will...
Hey all,
I’m curious what everyone’s opinion is on the Seymour Duncan APH-2 Slash Custom pickups. I’m thinking of putting a set into my next build since there aren’t too many passive pickups that come with black nickel covers and I can’t find any black nickel covers with the correct pole...
Hallelujah! After 8 weeks and 3 days my neck is on the way! I had guessed around 8 weeks so I wasn’t too far off.

The STL-3 Qtr Pounders have the option to be purchased "tapped" for two different output levels. The pickup's coil has an additional wire taken mid-winding and gives you the ability to select the pickup's full output or the lower, "tapped" output. Basically, you get hot and vintage all-in-one...
I'm going to put a black pickguard on it--though it's almost a crime to cover any of Warmoth's beautiful finishes. I'm going with a tapped qtr pounder in the bridge and a vintage str-1 in the neck wired into a 5 position switch. Also going with a 6 saddle bridge for intonation.
I received the...
Received my new tele body on Friday! She's going to be a beauty! :headbanging:
The neck should arrive tomorrow, so I'll post an update when that arrives. Cheers!
Thank you very much! I am extremely happy and can't wait for my next build....now I just have to convince my wife that 7 guitars is still not enough, lol
Thanks for asking and sorry for the delayed response. That's a Schaller 475 Hardtail Bridge. I chose it because it's similar in style to the modern Fender hardtail bridge but has rollers for each string which I feel helps stay in tune and it was one of the few hardtail bridges available in gold...
Yes indeed! The finish is perfect! Here's a pic of the finished guitar. I'll need to clean it up a bit since I just used it at a gig but I'll get some better quality and closer pics asap.
Here's the completed guitar. It plays and sounds incredible!
I've been playing it non-stop at practice and gigs and I can't say enough about how fantastic the tone is. I'll get it cleaned up since I just used it at a gig and snap a few better quality close up pics asap.
Received the body today! Time to get to work!!!
Oh, it's not shown here in these pics but the backside of the pickguard and the guitar cavity are shielded too.
