    What is your favorite effect/pedal?

Hey all, I really like my new TC Electronic Nova Delay.  It has a dedicated tap tempo switch so it's usable without all of the hassle my Boss used to induce.  Very clean tonally.  Lots of options and a few spots to save user presets so you don't have to remember old settings on the fly.  For...

    Mesa lonestar

Jmohill, Try the Hermida Zendrive.  You have to order from the Hermida Audio website, and there's a waiting list, but it sounds amazing with the Lonestar.  Gain and harmonics for days.  4 controls: volume, gain, tone, and voice, so it has a lot of tonal adjustability.  I haven't used it...

    Mesa lonestar

Yeah, Different amps respond differently.  It all sounded better in front with my MkIII.  This is a very different beast. Boogie2

    Mesa lonestar

Hey all, Woj.  I've got a lonestar head that I use with a 2x12 vertical rectifier cab.  Sounds awesome. Like others say it does clean to 70's Marshall sounds really well.  It's pretty easy dial in a nice mid gain lead sound (think Mark Knofler). I also use a Hermida audio Zendrive in front...

    cabinet voicing

Yeah, what Rab said.  A cab is a nice reactive load that acts like a lowpass filter.  It's why the line-outs of most amps sound overly bright and generally terrible.  I have yet to find a speaker emulated direct box that was worth more that the parts went into it... Boogie2

    Humbucker + P90 Wiring diagrams?

Ok Guys, If you all (hmmm, I'm in Dallas, I guess it should be "all y'all") think it sounds like a ground I'll give it the once over tomorrow night.  I bow to your vast combined experience  :laughing7:. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks guys, Boogie2

    Humbucker + P90 Wiring diagrams?

I'll double check my grounding.  I had previously checked all of the various pot/bridge/shield connections with my meter but I have made a few changes since then.  Might be worth rechecking. I've been working with the Duncan P90 version of the diagram you linked.  It's virtually identical...

    Humbucker + P90 Wiring diagrams?

Jack (or is it Mr. thehack :-)), I checked SD and they don't have a schematic for a Hum/single setup. I'd like to find one for the new Gibson GFS that uses the Hum/p90 config. The ground is good. In combined mode there is NO hum and the neck has very little, but it's also much lower output...

    Humbucker + P90 Wiring diagrams?

Hey guys, I've got an LPS that I just got wired up. It's got a pair of p90s. The Anderson P90 in the neck sounds amazing. It's perfect. The bridge P90 sounds good but has too much hum, sepecially with high gain (even with massive shielding). I'm thinking about going to the Dimarzio...

    Archtop/Hollowbody??

How about a 335 style hollowbody kit. Maybe something along the lines of the new hollow Carvin (550 I think)? Boogie2

Distortion pedals with a lone star???

Hey thanks guys, The BB sounds awesome.  The way the picture is for the video I didn't realize that it was Abdy Timmons.  I'm in Dallas and have been going to see Andy for years.  He rips and is  a really nice guy too. Never too busy to talk tone or gear.  I do business with a couple of...

Distortion pedals with a lone star???

On dragging gear down to GC, yeah I know.  It's just a PITA. Can anyone tell me what pedal was in the video clip? Youtube tells me the video is no longer available. I really like the Zendrive, but apparently they're so backed up, they aren't taking orders anymore. Thanks, Boogie2

where to get a tube amp kit

Check out  http://www.brownnote.net/ His stuff looks pretty cool.  I'm thinking I NEED the D'lite 44 :-). Later... Boogie2 PS: Be VERY careful.  I've had a lot of experience and tubes and caps still make me nervous.  I lost an EE professor in school.  He was working on his microwave...

    hellish rig

Yeah, I understand about spares.  The old Digitech DHP33 was a great guitar harmonizer.  I think I need to find a spare before they all disappear forever.  Thank God for e-bay :-) Later... Boogie2
