    What is this guitar?

I found this photo and would like to know who makes this guitar. It's kind of a tele/jazz mash up.

    Jazz/Jag inspired Git-fiddle

The Fender Jazzmaster guitar case finally arrived. It was back ordered. Last night I went to the studio and plugged her into my Vox AC-30 and cranked it up. This is going to be my main guitar for a long time. :)

    Jazz/Jag inspired Git-fiddle

So here she is... I'm surprised, for my first build, that it turned out almost exactly like my photoshop work. I've been very patient during the whole process and it wasn't until I tried to race to the finish line that I started messing things up. ;) I snapped off a 1/16th drill bit into the...

    Jazz/Jag inspired Git-fiddle

So here is my follow up on the project... Since Warmoth doesn't route for Jaguar pickups in their pickguards, I contacted a local guitar shop and the rough estimate was $100 to make the route. That is twice as much as I paid for the pickguard itself! So last weekend I went to Taps Plastic, a...

    Photos of Stained Jazzmaster body

Wet sanded and buffed! 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 grits. Medium polish and Fine polishing compound. I should have stayed on 800 and gone deeper into the nitro because I have very small 'pinholes' in the finish. Its my first finishing job so I learned a lot. I was worried about sanding through...

    Photos of Stained Jazzmaster body

Here are new photos since I've sprayed nitro. I ended up getting one more can of nitro because I thought the build-up was thin and I haven't sanded nitro before. So a total of 5 cans. Next up, the waiting game for it to cure and then sanding. I'm actually still worried about sand-through. Any...

Eek. I got a little sand through on the bottom side. Nothing huge. I debated wheither to apply some stain to fix it but I thought I might make it worse so I applied another coat of sanding sealer. One or two more coats and then it's nitro time. Just curious, if one has sand through, is it...

I've applied three coats of stewmac sanding sealer. Should I be lightly sanding at this stage? There are quite a few particles in the sealer but I'm worried that if I sand I'll get into the wood. Suggestions?

    Jaguar vs Jazzmaster sizes

I requested a Jag pup pickup route in the neck position for my JM guitar. Warmoth doesn't have a template for it. I'm having it routed locally.

Thanks for the advice Keyser! I think I'll add another coat and go from there. I like the way its looking. The end grain is super dark but I don't mind at all. Its almost like a mini-burst. lol! Cheers.

Now I'm wondering if I should sand it back a bit and then stain again to pop the grain. Any suggestions?

    Staining with Minwax Dark Walnut

What about the Elvis Costello Fender Jazzmaster Signature Series? Alder body, walnut stain? Thats what I was going for. Did they spray the stain?
