I managed to put this guitar together yesterday.
I'd like to thank Tonar for his finishing job on the body and neck.
Without his help, this project would not have even started.
Also, thanks to R6 for the cool neck plate. :)

The body is from KnE (swamp ash @ 3 LB. 10 Oz),
neck is from Warmoth (SS frets, 59 profile, LSR nut, my own headstock design).
Duncan TB15 and Jazz
Hipshot hardtail bridge with .175 plate and staggered tuners in 3 different heights (20,19,18 mm)
CTS pot, Switchcraft toggle,
Zinc alloy insert from Onyx Forge

Rock N' Roll Crazy Nights!! :laughing7:

sorry that's what popped into my head

cool guitar :icon_thumright:

Oh WOW thats an incredible guitar!

Could you PM me or even go over in this thread how you did the pickup mounting and what parts?

Wow is all I can say!
Tonar did a fantastic job on that baby... She is smokin'  :headbang1:
I love the torched finish on the body and you got some great flame going on that neck.
That baby just screams Rock-N-Roll Hoochie Coo  :party07:
:kewlpics: :rock-on:

Man, I would love a tele with that neck and burnt finish  :sign13:

But I would also love your guitar  :laughing7:

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Here's what I did to direct-mount the pickups.
I used the bolt that came with the pickups.
Cut it to 1/2" because I did not want to drill too deep
into the body wood. Pre-drill holes just smaller than
the screws. You only have to drill 1/4" into the wood.

Initially, I was going to put the chromed brass collars
under the pickup legs. But this caused the pickups to
sit up too close to the strings due the the way KnE routed
the PU cavities. So I put the brass collars on top of the
PU legs and put a white plastic TV cable holder under.
This allowed the PUs to sit up 1/4" away from the strings.
The PUs are mounted rock solid.
BTW, the correct size of the brass collars is 3/32, not 1/16.

Not exactly MY cup-o-tea......but hey, you didn't really make it for me  :laughing7:

Way to go T, that turned out spectacular.... :headbang1:

Nice job on the pup mounts, I love nekked pups.... :laughing7:

wow! that's one hell of a guitar!  :o :headbang:

btw, how do you like the hipshot tuners?

Thanks again, guys. :)

I played for a few hours today, and the tuners work fine so far...
Also, they look different. I like the exposed gears.

T,
Congratulations! Your guitar turned out wonderful. By the way pictures do not come close to showing how beautiful the grain on that neck is.  I hope it rings for days.

Nice!  That finish is incredible.  I take it from the heading of this thread that this has been discussed in some progress thread (I guess I missed it in my absence), if someone who knows could point it out, I'd love to know the back story!

Nevermind, I found it.  That's awesome.  I need to have a torched guitar.  I didn't know I needed one until right now, but I do.

When you are ready to get one, make sure you ask Tonar to do the job.  :icon_thumright:

Tonar
Thanks again for all the hard work you put into this guitar. I really appreciate it. It has been
a blast to see this guitar coming to life.
