Wudtone stains?

Hello folks,

Wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the Wudtone finishes? I'm planning on my purple warmoth tele for this Xmas and to save money and make it more "I DID THIS!" to the guitar, I'm looking for a cheaper (and most notably, indoor, live in an apartment) way to finish the guitar.

I'll be going with this finish here on flame maple if I go with Wudtone:

Then black stain on the back and sides (cream binding on top only), or a dark stain (it'll have a mohogany back).

Anyway, let me know what you guys think or if there are any options besides wudtone.

Thanks

Can't help you except to say that I do have a swamp ash body on order and also ordered a wudtone amber finishing kit to try out.

I'll post pics of that guitar because I'm pretty sure it will be the most beautiful musical instrument ever made in the history of the universe and with it I will make music that will make all mankind peacefully exist with one another for a thousand years in the spirit of friendship and respect.

I'll try and worship your new work of art Kaiser, but if it ain't Peavey, I don't know if I can.

Posted a strat in the strat section that I finished with Wudtone Amber.  I know you were thinking of different colors but I thought I'd mention my experience with the product.

Easy to use and you can do it indoors no problem.  It's fairly forgiving but make sure to follow the instructions well and give it the proper time between coats.  You'll be tempted to use more when less will do.  Take your time, use light coats, and give it proper drying/curing time and I bet it will turn out really well.  I'd use it again if I were going for a minimalist and organic look.  My two cents.

I realise this is late, but thought I'd chime in; I've done one guitar body with a Wudtone finish (basswood in low-gloss surfer girl) and I'm about to do another (swamp ash in extra gloss black magic woman with silver grain highlights).
It really is incredibly easy and, aside from the smell (which isn't bad, but it does linger), there is nothing to complain about. The finish feels great, really smooth under your arm when you're playing. It seems as tough as a thin nitro finish is; enough to protect from playing wear, not enough to protect the body from being smacked against a speaker cab.

I'm a little bit hesitant to finish a neck with it, due to the aforementioned durability. But for bodies it is certainly the way I'm going to stick with from now on.
