WTB: Axe-Fx II MkII

Yes, I get what you are saying Cagey, but when I heard a comparison of the early GT800 versus a prototype of the GT1000 version of the Matrix amps prior to the 1000s release it just seemed to have a slightly better response to my ears. Not a volume thing here.

I would think by now a couple of years later the only difference between the 2 is the amount of watts and £100 or so. The 800 will probably do the job for most occasions but there are some folks that go for a 1600 watt matrix.

Here's a video with both of them in.

If you are going to do Piezo and Magnetics in the Axe FX, this may be useful to take a look at.

Personally if I was going for the Matrix Amps, I would go for the GT1000FX, just for the extra headroom.

That's almost exactly how I planned to use it. I was also going to use tone match block in the acoustic signal like this:

But with a difference, I want use my nice tube mic'd Seagull Artist acoustic as the reference and then Tone match that to the Ghost piezo's in my Maria guitar.  It may be a pipedream but if it works i'll have my nice mic'd acoustic sound with my electric guitar with piezo's in a live setting. We'll see.

When you say If you were going with Matrix Amps, Is there a better or should I say different solution? I'm open to input from anyone on this. I do like the idea of a FR212 turned on it's side with a rack case with the Axe-Fx, power amp etc on top. MFC-101 with some expression pedals on some sort of road worthy board\case.

The Matrix products are very good. I meant as you are choosing them that particular model is what I would choose from their range, there is also a 2U version if you wanted larger quieter fans.

The other popular choice are Atomic CLRs, as Cagey mentioned.

There are certainly people who have tone matched their acoustics and use them in the Axe FX with the Piezos. Including a certain Alex Lifeson.

The video I posted earlier I think was made prior to the tone matching feature being released.

Talking about all of this is sending me in the direction of getting another Axe FX. It's left a big gap since I sold my last one.
