Working with Mahogany

Greetings,

Just ordered a mahogany Velocity body.  I've done 2 partscasters so far with swamp ash bodies finishing them with dye and TruOil, and plan to do the same with this body.  Is it basically the same thing working with mahogany?  Any watch outs that are specific to this wood?

If you don’t want to use my grain filler it’s the same. I use grain filler on swamp ash, but you don’t have to.

The grain is tighter on mahogany than ash, so it was both easier to fill in that I didn't do as many coats, but also more difficult because it was tougher to see any spots I missed and also be confident that I got the fill into the grain without pulling it out during scraping.

I think I've gotten better with each hog body I've done (I'm on #3 right now).  I've done two ash bodies so far, and that was before I found and fell in love with AquaCoat.
