Wood pickup rings?

I'm considering using a pair of rosewood humbucker rings on my Warmoth strat.

Does anyone have such experience? Any experience with those from Allparts?

My main concern is that they will break or crack easily.

they could break easily if bent around , I would think once they are installed though they should be fine . Check out David King , DKnob

I have one but never used , I ended up using a cream ring mostly for the color , but it's of very high quality

i used rosewood rings and knobs on my tele...no complaints...i am just not fan of plastic 'anything' on my guitars...

That looks like a Sheptone pickup you have there?  Is that yours or just a picture you came across?  If yours, how do you like em'?
I just got a pair of Sheptone Tributes and a set of Blue Sky's and I can't wait to get them installed.
I have never heard any live, so I am very anxious...

Yes , That is mine , it's a fantastic p/u . That is a Tribute . I don't think I could have done better for this axe . It went in my Precision LP build . I bet you love those pups !

Don't mean you can't post it. I want a thread!

I believe Mayfly did a pgk build thread a while back, a mighty tasty LP Junior, IIRC.

Do you like cats ?  :icon_biggrin: Where would such a non-Warmoth thread go ?

If it's not a Warmoth then what is it? Beautiful.

Thanks! I might go that route. That guitar is a beauty! :occasion14:

Sorry to bring a dead thread back to life...

I was thinking about this thread when I was putting together parts for my new build.

LMI (Luthiers Mercentile Internation) on the top, Allparts on the bottom.  The LMI ring needs work to make it usable.  I found mill marks on the ring, and the edges were just too sharp.  A little sanding is needed.

The LMI knobs have a "keeper" screw (I don't know what else to call it), and a brass insert as opposed to plastic.

Anyways, just thought I would share...I decided to go with the Ebony parts from LMI as it matches the ebony fretboard on the tele build I am working on right now (pics to follow).  I was unable to find anything on the net in my own personal search last year, so I ordered from both companies to compare.

I get so much information from this community.  Thanks to all.  I hope this helps someone else in their decision.

Cheers!

umm, I don't know why the images aren't showing...I might have to learn how to post pics again.  It has been awhile...

To post pics, you use an "image" tag pair with the source of the image between the tags...
