Will it fit?

I had 2 MM routes done for my bass by Warmoth.  Will a MM pickup with "ears" fit into one of these routes without looking stupid?  I'm just having trouble deciding on what pickups I want.  Not as many choices as I thought there would be for those, or for 5 string stuff in general.

If you're referring to the 5 string MM pickup rout, the rout is for MM pickups without ears.  The SD pickups fit nicely and sound pretty good.

Anybody know of any other pickups that will fit in these routes.  What are the dimentions of the route?  Just trying to keep my options open.  Nothing against the Duncans, I just want to make sure I've looked at everything out there before I make my decision.

Nordstrand fit.  You have to specify the proper pickup layout, but there is one that fits.  I believe it is the Music Man style.  It is not the Lakland style.  If you are looking for a Nordstrand, I suggest the MM5.4.  It is very versatile and a really great pickup.

I've heard lots of good stuff about Nordstrand, but having built two basses with the SMB5a 5 string alnico SD musicman pickup (a total of four of those pickups) I think they sound great.  Which is why I went for the 4str version in my current build.  Good luck!

Are you using a preamp?  If so which.  thanks!

Well, in a manner of speaking, my Mesa amp has a preamp...but no onboard preamp, no.  I like to keep things simple.
