Will a Warmoth neck fit on my 2000 Fender American Standard Strat?

Hey everyone! I just got a 2000 American Standard Strat and I'm really digging it. I ordered it figuring that the neck would be too shallow for my taste, and it turns out I could definitely use a deeper neck, one with a compound radius would be ideal. This predicament has led me to check out Warmoth.

I'm looking at the Stratocaster Modern Construction neck with a Clapton profile.

I'm sure it's been tried before - what's the consensus?

Should fit perfectly. Warmoth builds to Fender's specifications. The only time there are issues is when Fender doesn't build to Fender specifications, which happens more often than one might imagine.

Have you tried a guitar with a Clapton profile neck? If not, I'd recommend doing so before committing. It's only 0.05" (1.3mm) deeper at the first fret than Warmoth's standard thin, which is probably similar to your stock Fender, and, to me, actually feels thinner because of the slightly reduced 'shoulders'. It's my favourite profile, but I like skinny necks; if you're after a bit more chunk, maybe look at the 59 roundback or boatneck.

@Fat Pete... Thanks for the info.

I've tried Fender's Clapton Signature guitar and I like the profile. I think I know what dimensions I'm looking for in a neck - 1 11/16" width with thickness somewhere between a Les Paul 50's Rounded and a Fender Strat Deep C neck found on the Pro series.

In taking a closer look at the Warmoth Clatpon profile, it does appear that it's similar to the Standard Thin but with just a tiny bit of V-shape added. The depth measurements are ideal for me, but they might be misleading.

Maybe I'll go with an unfinished 59 Roundback and sand it down if it's too bulky.
