Wife came home with TWO of these...made me laugh.

Dude - your wife is incredible thoughtful.  :toothy11:

Now!  Let's talk about how easy it would be to build a tweed champ into one of those puppies.  :eek:ccasion14:

Yes, she rocks.  BUT, no way a 5F1 chassis complete with transformers and tubes AND a 6" Jensen is going in that cab.  Remember the inside dimensions are 10 3/4" wide x 7 1/2" tall, forgot to measure depth but it ain't much.  Just don't see that working out.  I could be wrong.  But I think Mayfly has a good idea, but it is....well....SOLID STATE.  Yikes, but it would work.

Hey vikingred,  If you're serious about the class D thing, I've got a couple of these sitting around:

https://www.parts-express.com/yuan-jing-tpa3116-class-d-amplifier-board-50w-50w--320-6554

They are stereo, 50W a side.  Well, when I measure them they are more like 30W... but I digress.  Sadly you can't bridge the outputs, but you could always just leave the input of one side wired to ground and not worry about it.

Do you want them?

Let's hold off, I've got so much going on.  Let me finish a few other projects.  I appreciate the offer.  Can you think of any possible way of doing something with tubes in such a small enclosure?

No worries.

The only thing I think you could do with tubes is to just use these as speaker cabinets and run them from a micro-head somewhere.

I wonder about gutting the original chassis, stripping all the paint, and doing like an AA4 or this sonic MA1.  That thing is tiny, and I think it might work.  Question is whether the transformer would stick out and hit the speaker magnet.

Esteban street cred, lol!

I say, yank the logo, stick it on a headstock of a future build!

Tony.  I just might do that.  Like shellac it in to a silver background headstock!  ESTEBAN!!!

Make one cab the headshell and the other the cab?  Yes!  Head on top of a 2x6 combo haha!  You could totally pull off a 5F1.

Nah, I considered Mayfly's solid state idea.  But I found a tube amp I think will work.  I could actually steel wool the existing chassis and just use it, I believe.  This, I believe should work, check it outIt's the MA1, a 3W amp, 1950’s design utilizing a 12AX7 preamp and a 50L6 power stage:

I've got so much going on right now, but I'm definitely going to do this, using the 6" Jensen speaker.  Prolly be quite boxy, but life's the same, I've moving in stereo, life's the same, except for my shoes; life's the same you're shaking like tremolo, it's all inside you....

Just be careful. That Swart might end up collecting dust after this build!

Yeah, I'm going to table this for a while.  I've got too much going on, but I am going to do it.  May start sourcing the parts.  I think it'll work.

Their website seems to be having issues this morning but you can get plans/kits similar to that one you posted above from www.ax84.com
