Ok so i was thinking about my next build and i wanna do a black white scheme. like a tuxedo or something snazzy. but my problem is i dont know where to find White colored hardware. theres gold and black and chrome.....but no white....im gonna end up needed White Pickup rings and a white gotoh 510 or ST TOM. can anyone point me in a direction?

Hmm, that sounds kind of interesting.

I've seen red hardware, I think maybe even lime green somewhere, but I've never seen white hardware.

Can you do a plating in white?

i wouldnt even know how to go about it....i know painting metal would be stupid i heard of a way to oxidize paint or something from another thread but i still have no idea where to go or how to go about it.

you probably don't because it takes special equipment, but there are companies out there that do a lot of powder coating for auto parts

There should be somebody in your area that powder coats, just call them up..

Powder coat is much more durable than paint. It's the only way I would do it.

if you want the black and white scheme, why not use black hardware?  :icon_scratch:

I guess the body will be black, the hardware wont stand out

you can get white strat knobs but that's about it unless you paint or powder the rest of the hardware. If you get white pickups and knobs, that might be enough to give the tuxedo effect that you want.

Yea this is what im thinking
Black gloss LP Flat top
Ebony Fretboard with Wenge neck
white binding
white gotoh 510 or white stoptail
white pickup rings
white speed knobs.
Black Kepur Strap

i wanted to go for the high contrast thing.

No help here, but back in the mid-80's Dimarzio had a whole line of colored hardware, including white. I also remember they did a maple neck finished in transparent red gloss.

Do a carved top, gloss black will look great with the body curves and shape.

yea im split between a carved top and flat top. i have a carved one so i was thinkin about a change, but the thing that puzzles me is why i havent seen very many flat top LP's anyone got pics?

or another consideration is the VIP with same scheme. but i love the shape of an LP.

whaddya think guys?

If you like the LP better, just go with it. I would definitely go with a carved top on that one. The curves would add so much to the theme.

I love tuxes, so I think this is a great idea! And I will always preach the virtues of a carved top LP over pretty much anything else :icon_thumright:

Sharp Concepts can do it.
