Hello, just replace the Grover Rotomatics on my Heritage H-530 (think Casino or ES-330) with some open geared LW Hipshots. Which buttons do you prefer:
    Left - Amber
    Right - Pearl

I'm leaning a direction but would like your thoughts.

Side note: While the Hipshots fit perfectly in the Grover hole, their screw points, while at the same location clockwise (6 o'clock), are just enough different that you can't reuse them, or drill new hones without 1st filling in the old ones.
Using the UMP instead of screws. On this headstock design, they do not cause the angle to look odd.

Now on a Vortex headstock, they do a bit I think, and will be drilling screwholes tomorrow for another project and a set pf Hipshots. (if time allows).

Get your vote in quick, decision time is 11 AM EDT.

I should note, the amber buttons are butter bean shaped (ala Grovers), the pearl button are keystone shaped (ala G)

,,,and I just realized I titled the photo wrong,,,, got to love dyslexia when you are tired and sick LOL

Interesting dilemma. I always try to tie the aesthetics together by using the tuner buttons to bring some aspect of the body up to the far end of the instrument. The amber is very close to the center color of the burst, but the pearl would match the bindings, and I take it, the dots too. I think, given the keystone profile of the pearls, I'd have to go with them! That's my vote, and I'm stick'n to it... :glasses9:

That's a hard choice but I looked at it with a soft focus and the Amber buttons did more to balance the overall look.

Many thanks
Amber for the win. That’s the one I was leaning towards.
As I look at it more, the peghead looks better with butter beans vs keystones anyways.

I vote for whichever you're leaning towards. You definitely shouldn't care what I think.
