I was toying around with it in the builder yesterday,
I went back today to rough some ideas....
And it's gone...

or am I just crazy?

It's not on the main builder page, but it's possible to find it by fiddling with the builder URL:

Sorry guys...the Diamondback builder is no bueno for now. The issue is that Lam Tops don't work as normal on the Diamondback due to the bevels. We're trying to decide what to do about it. In the meantime - NO BUILDER FOR YOU!

I wondered if that was the issue, I was playing around with it, and saw that and was thinking,
"there is no way the are using tops that thick..."

Thanks for the concise answer! :rock-on:

Lam tops are even an option? I love the body, but that bevel is a binding lam top killer. Please? You know the builders are like crack right? Play with one long enough and something eventually follows me home.

I actually really liked the look of the look of the lam-top with the bodywood underneath showing.  Yeah, you can't get binding on it, but it's a really cool look.  Carvin just came out with an extremely cool beveled top guitar:

.
They recently added a 7 string version:

See also here, which isn't quite as dramatic.  I can't find an example, but I believe that's how Warmoth used to to the SG bodies that had the lamtops.

Yep, I agree that a lam top on a bevel-edged body is a totally cool look.

Unfortunately, displaying that kind of an edge in the builder is durn-near impossible.

How bout if we click 'ok, I won't use lam tops until its working?"

Hey kids....the Diamondback builder is back online! LamTops and Unique Choice will not be an option, but you can play with all the other features to your heart's content.

Oh, so it's not an issue of Warmoth not building them that way, it's just how they'll show up in the online builder preview thing?

Yes, the problem with the builder was that it is impossible to display LamTops the way they will actually look on a bevel-edged body. For this reason LamTops and Unique Choice are not available there.

I know for sure that we have already built one or two Dimaondbacks with LamTops, and in my opinion they look insanely cool. They will probably be available in the In-Stock Showcase as a limited run.

I can hear it now: "Will Diamondbacks with LamTops be available as a custom phone-in option?" The answer is probably not. There is too much guesswork involved, and we can't get stuck holding the bag every time things don't turn out the way a customer thought they would.

Making them available in the Showcase only seems the best way to proceed. That way they are at least still available to some degree, and customers will see and know exactly what there getting.

Stick a janglytron in there and it's a bat-arang. Or paint it orange to tan burst, and it's an orangatan.

Fair enough.
Now, when you start talking about Lam top AND back, I'll dig out my wallet.

there is a build design I have been Dying to do.....

Any chance the Diamondback will get a proper body page witht he basic specs outlined? Used to be quite keen on the idea of a Warmoth SG due to the thicker body. I like the offset style even more, but without knowing what the body thickness is (and whether or not I can get one without the contoured heel—the builder always displays it even without the option selected), it's a little hard to pull the trigger on the order.

Unsure how soon the Diamondback will get a catalog page. The web team is going to be focusing on a long-term project for a while, and many smaller features may feel neglected in the meantime. It's not that we don't love you, cuz we do. It's a matter of aiming our resources towards the greatest good. :headbang:

And hey: if you ever need detailed info like body thickness or double-lam-top info, just remember we're only a phone call or email away.
