There some mistakes in there, but it's amazing overall.

is it just me, or is there something incredibly bizzare about little japanese girls playing american classic rock music on an organ/sequencer/synth combi instrument?

Oi, Rush is Canadian!  :icon_biggrin:
But seriously, it IS bizarre. You're just not supposed to listen, let alone 'understand' that kind of music at that age.
But it surely makes organ class much more interesting than having to practise music from composers who died centuries ago.

i'm actually more interested in where these kinds of keyboards come from. I've never seen that kind of build before, let alone seen a solo keyboard setting getting such a nice mix of sounds

It's not a keyboard, it's an organ.

Apparently, a Yamaha Stegea Electone.

it may be shaped and played like an organ, but it's not acoustically or electronically any kind of organ i've ever heard before. Is it really an organ organ, or is it a digital synth that's laid out like an organ?

It's called an electone. Check wikipedia for full details.

Where are all the fantastic adult musicians that these kids should grow up to be?

Orchestras, quartets etc. or maybe having a steady regular gig playing cabaret at a motel ala, Paul Shafer in the Blues Brothers movie?  :icon_scratch:

They grow up hating their instrument and resenting their parents for using them as a YouTube showpiece.
