When do we get solid and transparent finishes in the neck builders?

Transparent would only apply to non-maple necks. Can't put a trans or dyed finish on the maple that's used for neck woods. But solid finish option, yes, on the neck builder?

why not trans on a neck? i don't get it. even if the maple is harder and won't take a dye which i don't think is true the trans is not a dye it is paint like clear or tint or solid so why not?

I thought I read that somewhere on the Warmoth site, but going back now and looking at that section for the first time since the website was revamped, the wording has changed.

Now, if I read it properly you can put transparent and dyed finishes on maple necks, but with non-maple fretboards. Is that correct?  :icon_scratch:  (previously I thougt you could only apply solid clear finishes, and I thought they made a note of saying thet used a different species of maple for the necks - one that didn't take well with trans and dyed finishes.  :dontknow:)

I'm only interested in having for example a solid black finish on necks or for example a transparent brown finish on a mahogany neck.

I vote for all possible options to be available in the online builders...this would be particularly useful for overseas customers...I have ordered custom stuff that couldn't be built with the online builders and it took about a week of tooing and froing via email to get the order straightened out...but then again I guess if they made it all online then it would do our beloved Warmoth sales reps out of a job???
