Unfortunately, most of the earth's population will not get this reference.  I always interpreted the song as a guy who has a crush on his teacher.  Is that what we're talking about, or am I thinking about something else?

Not sure.

I know the video was more a riff on mad scientists.

What is interesting is Dolby wrote and shot the video as a short silent film and later wrote to song to be its soundtrack.

Also funny is I heard snippets of this song on a podcast I was listening to this morning. (the podcast used to use the song as it's theme)
