EDIT: can't figure out how to add a poll. can somebody help me?

so the guitar has been ordered. i kept my last one a secret until it was finished, but whats exciting about that right? so i've got a question for you, unofficial warmoth. i love the look of zebra pickups, so i figure why not on this project? i'm a little bit hesitant about how it would look. so enough rambling. here are the pictures, and a poll for you all.

Option 1. Classic Seymour Duncan Zebra set up

Option 2. Seymour Duncan Reverse Zebra

Option 3. Classic all Black pickups

PS: my plans were to have a JB / Jazz pickup set in this one. i've heard great things, and never owned a Seymour Duncan pickup in my life (besides the P-Rails thats still sitting around waiting for my Squier '51) but if you have any more suggestions i'd love to hear them! Lake Placid Blue, Tele Deluxe body, Alder body wood.

Huh. I usually cringe at reverse zebras, but here it kind of makes sense. The extra space between the bridge/neck and the white pickup bobbins kind of works.
Though regular zebras look great too... All black is too "meh" for this guitar, in my opinion at least :)

you forgot number four: ALL CREAM

but i don't know if seymour duncan does that. I know dimarzio does if you rethink your pickup choices.

Not a production model.  Dimarzio has a patent on double cream.  Seriously.

yeah, i've heard SD's custom shop can make them (and call them something else, maybe?) but i'm not a big fan of all creme anyway  :-\  even the zebra pickups would most likely be black and white, instead of black and creme

I definatly vote for the reverse Zebra's with another definate vote for no all black.
As previously mentioned, the all black are just too "meh."
Should  be a nice build.  Is this deluxe #3?

Good luck &  :rock-on:

i realized after i posted these pictures i was in such a hurry to see what it would look like i forgot the knobs  :icon_biggrin:  anyway, they'll be the classic Tele Deluxe style

Option 2 for me, I just think it makes the aesthetic much more balanced in my opinion. They all look good though. You decide in the end :headbang:.

no the SD zebras are black and cream

alright. good news and bad news. bad news first. the black and white reverse zebra is a special order (as Go Drex said) so it'll be about 3 weeks before it's in stock.

the good news is there's so extra cost for this, and my warmoth body should be shipped in 4 to 6 weeks (probably earlier) so they'll arrive around the same time. i'm ordering from BanjoMikez on ebay. definitely a great seller! instead of answer my long message, he asked me to call him. it's the second or third time i've called and talked for 5 or 10 minutes. definitely great customer service!

so there it is! a custom guitar, all the way down to the pickups  :icon_biggrin:

nope, this is why first Tele Deluxe. i've always loved them, look and feel-wise, but hated small features, so the warmoth is perfect!
