What to do with unwanted stock pickups?

Anyone have any idea suggestions for getting rid of unwanted stock pickups?  You can't sell them for anything on ebay....Are there people out there who harvest wire and coil from them?    I might keep a couple around for 'just in case' but otherwise, if no one has any better ideas, I guess I'll just throw them out...

I tend to save them in the attic incase I sell the guitar. A few I have used as bones (bobbins, mags, etc) for rewinds.

I keep a "Drawer of Misfit Parts" (it's actually several drawers) where I save things that may some day come in handy. I may never use the stuff, but there are a lotta folks who will for various reasons. Lotta brownie points to be had for giving away hardware/electronics, even if it's crap. Crap is better than nothing. Ask your dog the next time he's rooting through the cat litter box like it's some kind of Easter basket <grin>

I tend to hoard them all, as well.  It's funny, I'm currently off work for a month recovering from spine surgery (and it hasn't been that bad!).  I've felt well enough to go through my guitar collection and fix up a few things I haven't had time to do.  There are a couple of "off-the rack" guitars that I had previously modified with upgraded parts (tuners, pickups, bridges, etc.).  I decided to sell those guitars, so I went digging through my parts bin(s) looking for the original parts.  I still had most of them, including the stock pickups.

On a different note, anyone in the market for an Ibanez Artcore AS73 and/or a Jackson PS4?  :icon_biggrin:

There will be a time, maybe in the not so distant future, when you will want to sell a guitar but keep the pickups.  Even if the pickups are junk, it's always easier to sell a working/playing guitar.
