On a Gibson SG, with thin body and fairly thin neck - both mahogany - you get a tone that is rather mids-light. I dunno why, but they all seem to be midrange light. Thats one reason P90's work so well. Thats another reason for the 490/490 Gibson pickup set to work so well in them too. SG's have been made with 57 Classics, but I personally think the tone is thin from them in an SG. I love them in other guitars, Tele's, Thinlines...ES's... where you've got a bit more midrange from the guitar itself. The same would hold true of Lover's.
So, the question is - how thick is the neck gonna be, and the body, and what kind of wood.
