Well worked out what im wanting my next bass to be,
A Poplar/Alder (Depending which is availiable) Iceman 5 string, with a Full Purpleheart neck with black binding and blocks.
The body would be a non finish from warmoth so that a place in england can do the finish and decal, and quite probably have an inlay done on the headstock which will be a 4+1.
Now ive worked out the costs for all of it
And im trying to consider what order to buy the parts in.
The body will cost $285 on its own from warmoth, or $891 with the finishing work cost added. Alot i know  ???
The neck is $522
The hardware, minus a custom neckplate as i need to work on what it shall be, is $213
And the electronics, being a Delano MM and thinking using the Seymour Duncan 3 Band Tone Circuit is $264
Now im not sure what to get first, the body does require a few months to let the artwork be drawn up, as the person doing the artwork i dont want to rush doing it.
Everything else im sure about so can get easily enough without any constraints as to when i get them.

My advice is to save for the neck and body first.

Because when you have those, you need the hardware.

If you buy the hardware first, you may be tempted to use it on something else 'until I get the body/neck.'

This might delay/dilute the effort to get the body and neck.

Besides, it also gets the largest expenditure out of the way, in case you need to rationalize the $ to anyone.

Then, when you get the rest of the stuff, you can do it piecemeal. That way you can say "What's $15 for some potentiometers?"

Not to mention that having the body and neck first makes it easier to pass off the remaining expenses as necessary since you already put $ into body and neck.

Hope that helps!
