What looks best with vintage pearl?

I'm looking for opinions here: parchment or cream pickup covers with a vintage pearl pickguard? If anyone has pics of their guitars with one of these combos, I'd love to see 'em.

No, just trying to decide which color pickup covers better complement the vintage pearl pg I've selected for the tiger's eye strat I'm going to build soon.

Choosing a guitar around the pickguard/pickup covers??? :icon_scratch:

Ha! with you on this one joey.

But to answer your question black dyed flame maple looks pretty nice, and so does a clear gloss coat over some flame koa (but there are some that would consider top routing koa, sacrilegious - personally I like it but what can you do...  :icon_jokercolor:)

That Strat looks tasteful, as the pickguard complements the body. Otherwise, I would have skipped the pickguard.

I'm sorry, I must have been unclear. I'm not looking at matching body colors to anything. I'm looking for opinions on which color pickup covers match the vintage pearl pickguard because I can't decide if I want parchment or cream just from looking at the pics online. If it influences your opinion, the body will be tiger's eye stained quilted maple on trans brown swamp ash with no binding.

ok sorry i totally mis-understood.

CREAM CREAM CREAM! ( i just know someone is going to quote that with some kind of innuendo...) they match perfectly, what you call vintage pearl i call cream pearl... so they really are the same. white is just too...LOUD and parchment... well im not even sure what colour that is. but cream and vintage pearl go hand in hand.

These are creme pickup covers against a vintage pearl pickguard on my Tiger Eye Strat...

Those switches are gold now, too, but I don't have a more recent picture.

Submitted for your perusal..

Neck to bridge: white, parchment, cream

The final decision for this persons project was parchment covers and knobs.  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=11987.45

Holy shit! Aside from the switches and bridge pickup, that's one of the nicest Strats I've seen in a long, long time. :icon_thumright:

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it. Totally unplanned build, too. Saw the body in the Showcase one day, and simply had to have it. The neck is ebony over koa with a curly koa headstock, finished with vintage gloss so it would match the body, which it does fairly well...

Cagey, that guitar is gorgeous! It's very similar to the one I'm planning at least as far as color scheme.

Troubled Treble, that pic is exactly what I needed to see. Thanks!

Aside from the gold hardware, that looks very nice Marko.

The p90 pole peices seem to throw off the color match for me.
