Hey guys.

There are a lot of new faces around here, I feel like I'm swimming in unfamiliar territory here.  A lot of people I haven't met yet.

It's been awhile since I've been a regular around here.  I guess school got in the way of playing guitar.  That and having a pregnant wife meant that the band took a long hiatus.  But I've been keeping busy and I figured what better way to blast back into the forum than to report on my absence.

Mostly, I only have 3 cool things to report:

#1:

My son Maddox

I've already posted a picture of him before.  He's just over a month old now and just as freakin awesome as ever.

After building my first 2 Warmoths I decided to go back to school and get a music degree.  My major is in digital audio, though, so instead of being a performance major, technically my instrument is a computer.  I plan to be some sort of sound scientist.  I'm just entering my 3rd year this September and this is what I've got to look forward to for the next school year.

I'm the one who looks like he needs a week of sleep, a razor, and a few less cheeseburgers.

The only physical activity I get anymore:

I rejoined the sport of paintball last summer, and this year i'm going all out.  Managed to get invited to join a sponsored team and the pretend Rambo-ness is rampant this june-july-august.  In all reality, Paintball is just one tiny step up from complete nerdy, only thing more nerdy is LARPers and Airsoft. *jab* eheheh.

In just over 3 weeks time I'm playing my second ever big scenario game on a ranch in Southern Alberta.  4 days of camping  and pretending i'm Jack Bauer.

Assuming I don't have to spend half my research grant money on my house taxes this year, I'll probably be buying some pickups and things for my W Strat, something aftermarket (im' thinking Rio Grande) rather than the stock crap I transplanted.  Trying to tie down some bandmates and get back into the music.  As it's pretty silly to be a music major and never play.

Cheers you guys.  I"ll try to be around a little more often.

-Curtis.

I enjoyed reading this.  You probably haven't met me yet, all I do is make sarcastic comments and change my name occasionally so it's similar to established board members' names.

I'm also big on old jazz & blues: http://www.youtube.com/user/UbiquitousLazar?feature=mhee

Welcome back!  I'm new and just don't get enough cheeseburgers.  I'm contemplating redoing my next project photo...

Congratulations on being a father. Maddox certainly is a handsome young man . Good luck with school. The nerd comment made me laugh, can't be any worse than me (Civil War Reenactor). Mark

Congrats Curtis!! Beautiful Kid!!!
Good to see you back here..
oh and remember that a kid can really cut in your guitar budget.. but that is just about the only downside ;)

Ack! Get rid of the CO2 and go to CA - its better for the guns internals, doesnt loose or fluctuate in pressure over the course of the day, paint shoots better, and its cheaper!

@ Orcrist

That IS an HPA tank man! see the regulator?

Funny thing is this marker takes pretty high output. ~ 850PSI or it wont work at all. and Co2 is actually giving me more consistency and performance than my HPA tank.  I think something is wrong with my regulator.

Holy crap, thats the smallest HPA tank I've ever seen, I just assumed that was CO2 as thats a common bottle size. I use a 92ci carbon fiber 4500psi Crossfire tank w/ remote and yeah my regulator is also at 850. No WAY should CO2 be outperforming HPA.... I went with a Crossfire tank as everyone I talked to raved about how good their regulators are, and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah, this one is a 13ci 3000psi.  Its from guerilla and has a myth regulator, they're about half the size of most regs so it fits nicely.  I get about 100 - 120 shots on each fill.

I'm sure paint ball is fun, but 5.56x45mm is funner.... :icon_biggrin:

Well - not if you're at the loosing end of that thing. Paint stains are somewhat easier to recover from.  :icon_jokercolor:

True, the recieving end isn't the fun end....But the trigger end is.....I'm sure paint stains and some bruising are a bit easier to recover from than holes.... :toothy11:

Well, you can shoot 'em more than once. But, you stop getting good reactions to it. They just kinda lay there and take it, as if it's nothing. Hardly satisfying.
