What is better for a good, distorted neck pickup tone?

Mahogany and Ebony or Mahogany and Rosewood? The guitar in this case would have a Mahogany body 22 frets, a Floyd and an EMG 89 in the neck.

I doubt you would hear enough difference in fretboard material to care. :tard:
Pick for looks and feel.

Yeah, there's not going to be enough of a difference.

^This.

Best thing for a distorted neck pickup tone is a bridge pickup thats not over the top with treble, and just use that instead.  For a little bit of crunch and OD... I prefer a lightly scooped pickup, say, a Seth Lover or 57 Classic, but thats me, my amps, my ears, my hands etc
