What is a "profile post"

Can someone explain what this forum feature is ? Is it a way to have direct one on one messages ? I have some that seem specifically directed to me but most not. Spme have multiple usernames. I just don't get it.

It is not direct message that is a separate thing and profile posts are publicly visible.

Each member has a profile or member page. If I click on your username I am taken to your member profile

I have added a profile post there saying that it is a profile post. When you have updated this thread I will then delete it.

At this time, there are no other profile posts on your member profile.

It's not really the purpose. Few would see it compared to a normal thread.

It would be more useful to post something as a profile post that is informational or descriptive about you. A profile post is a post about your profile, or an update about it.
