I personally think the whole relic thing is, well, stupid. Why pay to get a guitar that's beat to crap? Besides - giging a lot does not mean your guitar has to get beat up. When my band was really happening, my main guitar at the time (a mid 80's Rickenbacker 620FG) got a major workout. I played it so much I had to get it re-fretted 3 times. However, it still looks (fairly) new because I took care of the thing.
Now with my warmoth Teles, I still get stilly on stage - playing behind my head, soloing while on my back with my feet in the air, jumping off the stage mid solo - but those warmoths don't have a scratch on them. And they never will as long as I can help it.
Actually I lie - the green one has a couple of scratches :laughing7:
