What about this Rosewood neck grain?

Looking at this neck. You see the open pores. What about this? I just bought a neck that has a very smooth Rosewood neck fretbaord, in stark contrast to THIS;

No, the one I bought is super smooth Rosewood, not nearly as open pored as this one;

The neck in the picture is what I see in my mind's eye when I think of Rosewood. But, I've seen it the way you describe, too. In fact, I have one where the neck meat looks like the picture above, but the fretboard is as smooth as Ebony. Warmoth said it was Indian Rosewood over Indian Rosewood when I bought it, but when you see it you'd almost think they were two different species.
