Hi there, i am planning my first guitar build ever, and  looking out for the neck options.
Does anyone overhere has experience with a wenge neck with a canary fretboard? I want to use it with a all black korina carves top chambered body.

How does wenge compliment black korina?? What are good pickups to go with it???

Thanks

Wenge looks great. Wenge on my strat.

Pickups are best chosen by the sound you want not by the woods you use.

Canary is very similar to Maple as far as sonic performance goes, given an all Canary neck. That is, it's somewhat "bright" because it's a brittle wood, so it doesn't absorb vibrations like some of the softer or more flexible species. If you ask me, this is a Good Thing. You can always filter out frequencies you don't want if you need to by using various sfx or EQ, but you can't conjure them up if they don't exist in the first place, as is the case with softer or more flexible woods. Wenge is also pretty brittle, but it's also a very open-grained wood, so it's not so bright.

So... what would a Canary over Wenge neck sound like? I don't know. Depends a great deal on the pickups you use. Buy one and find out, then report back so we can update the database  :laughing7:

Maybe i just order the body first,  and then meditate over the total look of the future beast!!!  😆

I have loved the whole process of "designing" a guitar from parts and pondering the look and the sound. It can take time so be patient with yourself. In the end the small number of guitars I have had a hand in, I feel 100% great about them and what my final decisions turned out to be. Sometimes rather different from what I was considering at first, sometimes not.

I just picked up a wedge and bloodwood.  I love the dark back with lighter fretboard.  Such a cool contrast.  Canary would be killer

Looks nice indeed!!

Do you have shot from the side, to see the transition between the two woods??

Thank you

You can see the transition at the headstock if that helps.
