Well It's about Bloody Time!

You probably also saw that Public Enemy is also going to be inducted.  This means Flavr Flav will be in the rock and roll hall of fame before Iron Maiden and Deep Purple.

I think Public Enemy, Donna Summer, and Randy Newman are better musicians than Rush.

Public Enemy, Randy Newman, Donna Summer, Rush - one of these things are not like the other....only one of them played rock music, for one thing! They need to change the name if it's also the disco and rap hall of fame.

Though I don't actually care for Rush. Canadians are such homers! :) You guys are probably also upset that Bryan Adams and Rick Moranis are not in there.... :icon_tongue:

The Canadian government has already officially apologized for Bryan Adams.    :)

Everybody stop dissing Bryan Adams, ok?

The RNRHOF is pretty much a joke, but Rush belongs in there as much as anyone else does...probably more so than Donna Summer anyway.

Dammit! Now I can't point to the fact that Rush isn't in the RRHOF as proof of Rolling Stone's Idiocy and Myopia anymore...  I'm sure the only reason they got in is because of Eddie Trunk's rants against them on That Metal Show. The Rush episode where Ed BLASTS the RRHOF with Alex and Geddy on set must have left them pretty red-faced. I laughed my ass off anyway. To quote Ed, "RRHOF ... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?"

Actually, I'm feeling a bit put out by this. Rush has always been so anti-mainstream, and this feels like it's taking some of that away. Oh well, like Alex says in the interview, ".. is it going to put more butts in the seats?" Knowing that it's not really going to change anything will be the silver lining I guess. It's the appreciation of the fans that matters and as long as Rush cranks out great stuff like Clockwork Angels, I'll be a fan.
