I am just starting an electric guitar finishing project with an Alder strat body. I want to finish it with the fruitwood Danish oil. I really want the natural wood look to my guitar and do not want a really plasticy/glossy/mirror finish. I really want the guitar to be kind of like a workhorse and not a pristine museum piece. Ideally I would like for the body to be simply oil and wood. With alder, does the danish oil offer enough protection for an instrument or do I absolutely need to put on a few coats of satin arm r seal afterwards to create some protection. Thoughts ideas out there? If you have pictures post em please
