Warmoth's Sale

Well, the sale is drawing to a close here in about 10 days. I could be wrong but it was my understanding that this was their first ever sale. Feel free to correct me on that one. Anyway, I hope the sale was successful enough that they don't wait another 30 years to do it again.

Aside from the sale, I personally would like to say thank you to each and every person on the Warmoth staff for doing whatever it is that they do. Without all their hard work we would be left to buying less than stellar parts to build our own guitars. Hats off to all of you.

From a marketing standpoint, I would not be surprised if the sale is extended at the last moment, or certain body styles with certain routes stay on sale a little longer.  Particularly the heaping amount of basses with the Gotoh 201 route.  Maybe a little add about a service of plugging the holes and re-drilling "your choice hardtail" could move them.

Yes, thank you very much to W for the sale. I am not able to afford my ultra dream custom neck, but 'lo and behold' there is a great neck already made in the showcase that I CAN afford, because of the sale. Were it not for the discount, that order would have been out of the qustion. Every dollar counts, and I sure appreciate the opportunity to get this order underway!

I thought the Rosewood LP necks would sell better during the sale but maybe price isn't so much the issue. We all know about the bolt-on neck affliction some have with the traditional glue on body styles so that's a given. Any other reasons you can think of anyone?

I'm not an LP kinda guy, so I'm not sure...Maybe it's too heavy? Too warm of a sound and they want mo' snap? Where's Orpheo?

For Strat and Tele players, bolt-on neck was never an issue for the obvious reason.
Hence Warmoth parts are a welcome addition.
But for many LP and SG players, a set neck with a long tenon traditionally has been
something they regarded as a main advantage in terms of tone and sustain over the
bolt-on design. So these guys can't not overcome this stigma and would rather go
with less attractive/playable Gibson guitars than what Warmoth has to offer.  :tard:

I am one of those guys mentioned above. But my excuse is that bolt-on neck on LP/SG
just doesn't look right. I know it sounds shallow, but I can't help.  :help:

I personally don't care much about Warmoth's insane maple tops. But it's a shame that these
traditional Gibson lovers don't get to experience Warmoth necks.  :dontknow:

The same could be said about exotic wood necks.  Most neck woods are usually Mahogany (Gibson) and Maple (Fender).  Some people can't get past that.

For me it's as simple as the headstock design.  I never liked the string angles through the nut on it.  Not to say you can't make it work, I just didn't want the hassle personally.

Also, Gibson has been getting a beatdown in the last number of years in Quality Control.  A different headstock definitely proclaims, "Hey, this ISN'T a Gibson!!"

One thing I've always wanted in an LP is the maple fingerboard. Only one I've ever seen like that is the Zakk Wylde camouflage and personally, I don't really need a camouflaged guitar.

As for the bolt on neck...........I could get used to it. Also, if I ever do go the Warmoth LP way then I'll definitely go with the Warmoth headstock instead of the traditional LP style. I thought it would look odd but after seeing a few on here like that I really kind of like it. And, as someone stated before, it would set it apart and clearly say "Hey, this isn't a Gibson!"

The Warmoth headstock looks great on several different body styles.  I've seen them on LPs, VIPs, L5Ss, and Soloists.  They don't look bad on Teles either.  I haven't seen one on a Strat, but I'm sure it works on that too.

Agile Guitars makes several LP models with maple necks, they look interesting. Agiles are korean-built, surprisingly good quality for the money.

The Warmoth Sale inspired me to order a tele neck in unfinished indian rosewood, 1-piece and quartersawn. Very reasonable price!

I am very excited, I know it is going to be fantastic.

i love it! think it works perfectly with the body. still think it looks best on a soloist, though.

Oh yeah, I've seen that.  Works there too.  Not your typical Strat headstock, but not your typical Strat.
