Warmoth should add this body shape

Really wish that Warmoth would add this out of production gibby body shape to the offerings.  Could be tweaked a bit, but it is just the perfect size, weight and shape!  Looks like it could be adapted to a bolt on neck easily enough to warrant consideration.  The lower bout is the same or smaller than a LP and it is thinline construction.  The possibilities are endless!

I'm guessing that even if Gibson went out of business altogether, we still wouldn't see any of their body shapes coming out of the Warmoth factory.

I tend to agree with Cagey.  The closest you'll get to a Gibby ES body is the Mooncaster.  But that slightly offset Gibby with the Firebird headstock is pretty handsome, I'll give you that.

For those interested, that's a Gibson Vegas High Roller.  Sexy axe.

Here's the Google image search link.  Enjoy.

For me, the Firebird headstock makes that guitar...  Reminds me of a non-reversed CS-336.

It's a new one on me, too. A little research tells me it was not well received by the guitar-buying world, but not really why. As a result, they only made 'em for 2 years. I also learned that the body is made sorta like the Warmoth Mooncasters, in that rather than the traditional semi-acoustic construction, it's a slab that's been hollowed out and had a flat(!) top attached. Flat top seems strange to me for that body style, as are master vol/tone controls only and 6-in-line tuners, but what do I know?

That's a nice looking guitar, especially in the red/black burstover. I'll give that one a thumbs-up.

I would rock that axe. I especially like that it dispenses with the normal Gibson 4-knob paradigm, in favor of a single volume and tone, which has always been my preference. However, I can say with great confidence that you probably won't see a Warmoth body like that any time in the near future.

However, I can also say with great confidence that our Mooncaster body is about to get a heaping helping of new options: a bunch of new pickup routs and bridge routs (including all the tremolo bridges), etc.

The Mooncaster is already one of our better sellers, and it's about to become a force to be reckoned with.

Edit: This is imminent, by the way...scheduled to go online next week.

As the  instigator (or is that 'Rabble Rouser') of the original "we want a Starcaster" movement, I'm glad (and somewhat relived) that it all worked out ok for Warmoth.  :icon_biggrin:  :occasion14:

Right on! Though I should clarify: there are just a few body styles that account for 90% of sales. Among the bodies that make up the remaining 10%, it's one of the better sellers.  :glasses9:  With the addition of these new options, I fully expect sales of the Mooncaster to....ermm....eclipse them all.

I too would like to say that this is great news. Even though I might not be buying a Mooncaster any time soon (since I'm all about 24" scale nowadays) it's really really nice that Warmoth keeps adding new options and features on their models.

A great big thumbs up!  :icon_thumright:

Question:
Besides telling all the good people here about this, how do you guys normally introduce new options on the Warmoth site? Just quietly roll them out or is there an announcement on the FB page perhaps?

A suggestion regarding this could be some sort of "latest-update-info-space" on the webpage.
It could be good to know about the latest offerings of options and might attract more customers perhaps.

Depends on what the new stuff is. If it's new stuff we want to crow about, we blast it all over social media. If you're paying attention to Warmoth at all, you will get the word. If it's stuff that we are correcting or changing based on complaints or compatibility problems, we often just do it quietly, so as not to draw attention to it. In those cases it just gets phased in with no fanfare.

The Mooncaster changes will be crowed about. There may be other changes, that we may or may not be in the midst of, that will not be crowed about. Catch 'em if you can. :)

(I do mention some of the latter kinds of changes to the "Warmoth Elite" here on UW from time to time....but they won't be announced to the great unwashed masses of the internet at large.)

Cool!

I'll try and catch the smaller ones as well. Even though I might not catch them at first I'll probably do it eventually. I mean I am on the Warmoth page daily after all. Gotta have my fix ...  :laughing7:

Good news! :icon_thumright:
Please just make sure all the options I need are in place by the time I'm ready to order. Probably about 4 years if prevailing conditions persist.

Dangit.... that's going to make it VERY difficult to not build one...
