It will be all wet sanding, buffing, drilling, wiring and assembling from here on.  Will post pictures of the finished product in time.

Looking good! :icon_thumright:
I think you will love the sound of your guitar!  I went and saw the one I just finished being used at a gig the other night.  The guy I built it for uses a Two-Rock amp and when he switched to the bridge pickup it made the hair on my neck stand up.  I had the opportunity to set in with the band and use it while he sat in the audience so he could hear it out front and the thing just growls. They really have a different voice all their own.

Tonar, I am glad the guitar meets your approval.  I hope it will growl as well as twang.  The TV Jones Magnatron virtually guarantees twang in the neck position.

Cagey, funny how you should mention tuning keys.  After my bad experience with Gotoh mounting screws, I have decided to go for another brand of Kluson style tuners.  I hope these will work for me.

The guitar has actually been completed since last year but I have not got around taking photos of it.  I will do it soon.

Wait does that hipshot bridge bolt right onto the American Fender hardtail? Or did you have it drilled special for it?

I'm not sure about the American Fender hardtail, but I've used that same bridge on my hardtail. I think mine might have been drilled for a vintage hardtail, though. I'd have to measure it again.

One thing you have to be aware of is Hipshot makes them in two heights - a .125" base plate, and a .175". But, even the .175" part is too short for a standard neck pocket. I had to mill my neck pocket's floor down about .100" to get the strings off the upper frets without using ridiculous saddle height adjustments. Scary business, but it's worth it. It's a better bridge than the Fender part. If you were to do a build with the thought in mind of using that bridge, it might be worth it to get the "720 mod" from Warmoth done. Normal pocket depth it .625", so the mod lets your neck sit low enough for it all to work.

When I was ordering parts from Warmoth, they ran out of the narrow spaced hard tail bridge. I had a Hipshot bridge in my parts bin and after comparing the measurements, they are nearly the same with three mounting screws and string-thru-body set up.  The string height did not pose a problem and the saddles are raised to a normal level. Will post more pictures later.
