Warmoth equivalent

Hey everyone,

I'm new here, and was actually sort of directed here by the Warmoth sales reps.

I am looking to duplicate the color I see on a custom Strat from a google image search. Does anyone know anything of the color on the following attached guitar? I'd guess a dye on a maple flame top. How do I duplicate that?

I haven't built a guitar yet and was hoping to get the finishing done by Warmoth. That is why this thread isn't in the DIY section (FYI)

Maybe amber dye http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Body/Finish/#!/Dye/AmberDye but you may have to add that to your order by phone. Fireburst http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Body/Finish/#!/Dye/FireBurst may be another option. If you don't locate anything in Finishes (Guitar Bodies, General Options, Finish Choices) on the Warmoth website that strongly appeals to you I have used MJT Guitars twice for finishes on unfinished Warmoth bodies I bought and I think someone on the forum does great finishes but I can't recall off the top of my head.

As far as the Warmoth finish options go, I think Sunset Orange comes in pretty close:

Transparent neon orange looks close in the stock image...

but in the builder, the sunset orange looks closer...

I agree with Verne and Cagey in that to me it looks more like one of the transparent orange finishes than a dye.

I'll add that with trans finishes the piece of wood underneath will affect the final colour. Maple can vary from almost white to oak-ish brown and it's not easy to predict exactly how a custom order will turn out. I'll also add that Warmoth's paint shop do a great job and I'd be surprised if you were disappointed.
