Dear friends...greetings from Greece and congratulations about your amazing and helpful forum.
my name is Teo and i'm about to construct my first bass project with a lot of help from a
professional instruments craftsman (friend of mine).

the body shape that i'm going to use...is (as title says) Warmoth Deluxe 5Z
and to be honest and clear to you...with all my respect to Warmoth, i'm not gonna buy it from Warmoth,
because in my country we have very unfair and outrageous costing...as it concern shipping, taxes, customs fees, etc.
believe me...this trouble is not worthing at all.

however, i have the ability-knowledge to cut it and construct it, exactly the same, by my self.
but in order to achieve that, i need to have the original blueprints...
of course i could easily experiment (with dimensions) and in the end somehow to get it somewhere...
but i'm so in love with this shape and i don't want to swerve at all from the original scheme-layout-design.

dear friends, i certainly know that my request, is at least antideontologic, but you friends are my last hope.
i have already addressed officially to Warmoth (with the same request)...but they don't intend to help me further (logic).

if any of you, has these blueprints, or at least some helpful dimensions and wants to share them with me...
if any of you has a 5 bass with Warmoth Z shape body and don't bother to measure it....
i would be totally obliged.

thanx my friends...
with all my appreciation
best regards.

I seriously doubt anybody has blueprints, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those to show up. You might get a tracing, but if you're anxious to get started it may be a frustrating wait. There aren't that many bass players, and even fewer of those who will have that model.

If it was me, I'd take screen shot of the body in white...

... then blow it up 300%-400% and put a grid on it, like graph paper. Then, draw up another grid exploded to actual size, and transfer the design. You could do that today. All you'd need to know is one dimension (length or width) to set your scale size, and you'd be set to go.

Incidentally, I was fortunate enough to work on a similar bass, but a 4 string version one of the members here (Loomis) put together...

Very nice piece of work. Equally attractive and comfortable to play, and sounded great. I can easily understand your wanting one.

Also, you guys should know Mr. Loomis is a fantastic bass player, so don't let him kid you. If I was of a mind to form a band, he'd be the first guy I'd call.

Another funny thing is we grew up within blocks of each other and never met. Quite a coincidence when you consider the size of Detroit.

I'd go with Cageys idea he has put up, and tomorrow night ill be able to give my 5string Z  a decent measure up for the length or width.

Must admit you emailing me about this seemed a bit suspicious but then i realised my email was on my profile, Maybe not the best idea but it ruled that suspicious out of my head. So be happy to help tomorrow when i can get my hands on my bass properly

more exactly (beside total width or total length)...i would be grateful and obliged if you could send me plus some extras...

and what i mean with some extras...as we look the body (from bottom to top):
* mm or inches from central bottom till the start-lower position of the neck pocket.
* mm or inches from central bottom till the cut-start of the left curve
* mm or inches from central bottom till the edge of right horn
* mm or inches from central bottom till the lower bridge position

all other specifications will be customized (humbuckers position, knobs position, etc)
please be sure that your measurment will be at least with relative accuracy...
for example the lower postion of this body (to start measure length) is not at imaginary center but a little bit right...so about width...the left edge is some cm's beneath left cut
and the right edge is much more lower to the right outer curve...

once again...you are GREAT!!!
thanx very very much...

Probably just a fan, but perhaps he is a Jeff??? :tard:

He's a modern shredder. One of my favorites. Now, he plays mostly 7 strings. His solo albums are in my opinion more technically demanding than anything Yngwie has done...

Inkscape (free vector drawing program) + printer + scotch tape + scissors. If you can get a vector drawing close enough, you can then scale that up as big as you want it in case you want to use it to draw alien designs in corn fields at night or something.

I happen to have a 5 string Warmoth Z body bass...I bet I could get one traced out sometime this week unless somebody has you covered already. Let me know!
