Warmoth #2 --- Firebird

I first noticed a similar Firebird in the showcase and immediately loved it.  It's one of those you either love it or hate it type of bodies and I fell into the former category...
However, I wondered why they took such a beautiful body and top-routed it.  This would be wonderful if rear-routed.  So, I resisted!
Then I came across this cool Firebird pickguard and knew that was how I could live with this top-routed beauty. 
The only thing wrong was the showcase Firebird was routed for HB X HB and I really wanted to use P-90's.
There were some naysayers that said Warmoth would not duplicate a showcase body.  I gave them a call and they said we can get her done!

So, the journey begins...

Body:
Flame maple top with flame maple raised center piece
1 piece mahogany back
String-thru body
Tigers eye dye top with trans brown back
720 mod

Neck:
Canary Firebird with ziricote fingerboard
SS 6115 fretwire
No fret markers, side markers only
Clapton back contour

Hardware:

Steinberger gearless tuners
Tone Pros tune-o-matic bridge [likely changing to Callaham ABR-1 bridge]

Lollar P-90 neck & bridge

That guitar is wild and wicked...............love it.  Are you going to use metal pickup rings for the mini humbucker and the two full sizes ?

The Lollars will be black and the Firebird middle will use a chrome cover with black pickup ring.
The P-90's do not use a ring.  They mount directly to the body.

I did think about creme pickups and rings for a moment, but I think the black would work better.  Thoughts  :icon_scratch:

Thanks Doug!  Yea, I like the ziricote as well.  I never really started watching the ziricote fingerboards until you posted Old Spalty.  Now that is a beauty...
