My GF has a rental property... had an eviction today.  She was in the place cleaning, and the son of the tenant came in, threats, stole stuff as she was helpless to do anything, more threats...  He's 21, gangbanger, armed, and has two open felony charges, plus whatever they come up with for him on this.
I'm too damn old for this drama....

Sounds like a real winner. That’s exactly the kind of thing that brings me back to my senses when I think about buying a rental property. Coincidentally, it’s also exactly the kind of thing that reminds me to spend some more time at the range. I’m glad GF is ok and, if I infer correctly, that looser son is in custody.

Shes ok.  Shaken.  He got away.  They're looking for him.

I've had the opportunity to hold a man at gunpoint one time, in my apt.  Cops asked why I didn't shoot.  Told 'em I didn't have to.  They heard me order him to sit with his hands on his head....multiple times, but in the end it ended as well as could be expected. He stood up when cops came in, they busted up my over-sink cabinet with his face.... broke his nose on the cabinet door pull...  glad it was over the sink, big mess.

That’s quite a story! I’ve never had to draw mine and hope I never do. I hope the authorities get him rounded up, that will give you both some piece of mind. Especially if you are going to be showing the place to potential new tennants.

He trashed the place.  Gonba take a month to restore.  Symbolic graffiti painted inside.  Pee and blood soaked old mattresses.  Food all over.  F'n mess and a half.  And.... Some female dropped a small purse full of crack, and credit cards, and her ID, SS card and birth certificate!  Yes, she is blonde!  So cops have _that_ now too.

It's also frustrating I'm sure, that no amount of background checks and references in the world can save you from squeeky clean gramma's adult felon offspring showing up.

Glad to hear GF is ok, $hit like that can go south real fast......

Sounds like good outcome to a bad situation. And you got to watch it, without having to do the paperwork!

Exactly the right attitude. I also have never had to, either for work, or off duty. Came close a few times, but thankfully reason won out over stupidity. Just so happens I spent the day on the range with five great officers today. A little shoot'n, a little BBQ for lunch, lots of camaraderie and war stories. AND, we're doing it again tomorrow!

Stay safe Brothers, and stay ready....  :icon_thumright:
