VW & Tele

Not exactly just out of the box but I haven't done much with them yet.

I got the Swamp Ash/Flame Maple VW from ebay. The guy said he provided the thick top and had Warmoth do the construction, but decided not to keep going with the project. I'm planning on doing it green dye over black dye.

I custom ordered the neck as Walnut/Ebony V with a flame maple peghead veneer to match the body. I rounded the end of the peghead to go a bit better as well.

The Alder/Flame & Quilted Maple Tele is from the sale. It just looked too cool at that price to pass up. The accent liine and dividers are walnut (that should be fun to grain fill). I'll probably get a vintage modern neck to get some more walnut accents, but I'm not decided on the other details. Maybe red dye and gold hardware.

My plan is to make the VW my gadget guitar. A Ghost Piezo Floyd with 13-pin output, a Sustainer, and an EMG 89 from a current guitar (plus an SA if I rout for a single). Maybe an Ntune when they get the active one out. I need to save up for all this stuff and stop buying parts for other projects.  :-\

I didn't even know you could get a piezo for a Floyd rose!  Do you have any info on something like that?

That's the one. The combnation of that and the electronics for it (piezo and 13-pin midi guitar) will run about $600.

I'll try. It will be my first dye job. I've got the ReRanch Black and Green alcohol soluble dyes and that piece I sawed off the headstock to practice on.

I've got some boards from WoodCraft to practice grain filling on also. Swamp Ash is all holes! Walnut looks a little easier.

I forgot to add... that is one serious top on the VW!
