VS-100 Brass Block - Your opinions ?

I doubt that it would make a $87 difference..
I would have tried it if it wasn't as expensive as the bridge it self..

Would you say "hell yea" if it was $30.00 and free shipping ?

I would, if I was okay with how the sound changed.  Some guy made sound samples with floyd Rose Sustain blocks.  He tried the original, plus steel, brass, and titanium. Here's a link:

Honestly, from what I heard there I prefer brass over titanium.

Isn't it funny how the nay sayers are always people who've never tried something.

I have the block and the tonal difference is huge... especially on the VS100 because of it's cheap thin cast block.

I've also had him to specially make me brass blocks for my Tom Anderson and my Suhr with equally stunning results.

The strings anchor at the end of the block so you get more of the block itself's effect on your tone, thus because the block is heavier and more dense, the tone is bigger overall with a sweeter top end and a more focussed mid range.

Fantastic product  :headbang1:

Forgot to mention that I'm currently waiting for my Warmoth order and I've got this little beauty waiting to go onto it  :hello2:

Sorry for necroposting but I had to update this.

I was getting annoyed with the loss of dive range cause by the extra large brass block hitting
the back wall or the rout. It was really limited. Not even 1 octave on the low e.

I've never had a vs-100 before, so I didn't know what to expect from the stock block
since I put the brass block on before ever finalizing the build.

So, 2 days ago, I put the stock vs-100 block on to see how much difference it would make in the dive range.
Well, yes. Now it's perfect. I can get all the way down there.
It now has all the range I want and stays in tune very well.

BUT ... the real perk is ... to me ... it sounds better.
The guitar now sounds more open and there's no loss of sustain that I can notice with the stock vs-100 block.

The brass block sounded tight and more solid in the mids.
The stock block sounds more open and balanced across the mids and has a bit more sparkle.

Of course, it's all subjective and personal preference, but I now really like this vs-100 with the stock block on it,
where as before putting the stock block on there,  I was considering going to a Kahler flat mount for my next electric strat build.
No now. I love this Wilkinson in right out of the box mode.

Another question about VS100N:
Warmoth:  .382" (9.70 mm) diameter insert
StewMac:  .394" (10.00 mm) diameter insert
:icon_scratch:

I'd go with the Warmoth because they're drilling the holes in the body. That way you don't even have to know the measurement.

Of course, but I would like wilky rout and then put a Hipshot Tremolo :P

I have that particular combination.  I had a guitar tech (SF guitarworks in San Francisco) put in the studs. It's worked out okay.
