Thank you, Surf n Music!  There is a story behind that top.  Suffice to say that and one other were the first and only dual-lam carved tops that Warmoth made with camphor burl.

I do think it's a bit unfair though, when everybody else has stuck to building their guitars out of wood, for Slartibartfast to enter one made from the atmosphere of Jupiter.

Then again, if anybody's going to build things out of planets, he's the guy to do it.

There is a seriously crazy amount of beautiful guitar-porn in that submissions thread.  Not a clinker in the bunch, from the classic sunburst strat to the figured maple insanity to the sweet jazzcaster and z-bass.  If I didn't love my own so much I'd have big problems figuring out whom to vote for.

Yeah...and those who do not win this month can enter again....ugh.    :doh:

Some real nice pieces.  People thinking outside the box too.  I think back to when we started this and the field mostly consisted of killer looking LP, strat and VIP bodies.  I have seen a shift info more creative uses of wood, color, inlay, wiring.  I love it!!!

I know I personally have grown and started trying new things thanks to the forum.  I am nearly limited by my pocketbook now!!! 

Btw....the bodies are still killer too....obviously.
