Is that good or bad?

My oppinion is that I can play fine with just the side dots, so why should I cover the pretty wood? Though if I was to teach with one of my guitars, I would definitely choose one that had inlays, for the convenience of the student.

Go fretless then.  Why cover the pretty wood with frets?  :icon_jokercolor:

Gstring, Patriot and Bagman,

Thanks for the compliments on my guitar.  I appreciate it.  I also understand the comment on the Roland pickup being bulky and ugly but it is only temp mounted.  I didn't take time to redo my pictures after I saw the competition.

This is my first Warmoth but my second submission to GOM.  Two months ago I submitted my second build as I thought it came out even better.  However, it got one vote (guess who's vote that was :laughing7:)  Oh well, not doing it for the votes are we?  Good luck to all.

Congratulations, Bagman! A well-deserved win on an outstanding instrument! Every time I see that thing I fall in love all over again.

Thanks, all - I'm very pleased to bask in the regard of my fellow forum-ites, and moreover, to enjoy this guitar as much as I do.  There were a lot of really beautiful instruments I could have seen winning over mine, so thank you all for picking me.

Peace

Bagman

Good Job Bagman,

If I were to build another it would be very similar to yours (but then it wouldn't be unique!)  Very nicely done!

I'm starting to think people actually HATE breathakingly gorgeous figured wood. I can't believe that absolutely stunning piece of Koa didn't win (though I don't dig the headstock) - not only that but that there wasn't any wider distribution of votes..

Nonsense. It's just that sometimes you want some bling and sometimes you want some class. Sometimes you want a work of art and sometimes you want working art. They all have their place.

Congrats Bagman  :headbang: ...... by a Mile
