VIP Case Question

Sorry if this has been suggested before, but has anyone tried a PRS case? I haven't seen a VIP in person, so I don't know how close they are in body size and design. If you'd like to send me a VIP, I'll be happy to test-fit it into one of my PRS cases!  :cool01:

Might have to look into the Roadrunner.  The angled neck is the problrm with the G&G case.  That and the guitar is too tall over all for the case and you have to really squish it in to close the case.  Got a model number for the RR case?

I'll post it up tonite.

Dunno whether they fit, but you could buy one and return it if it's a clunker - Sweet water offers PRS replacement cases at $129 a pop.

I tinyurl'd it because the Unofficial Warmoth censor software mangles the real one.

AArgh  - looks like I missed a point above, namely that the VIP is a shade too large for the PRS case.  Never mind.

Unfortunately, my case doesnt have the model number on it and I just threw out the tag thinking I wouldnt need it anymore.  But I did do a search on guitar center's website and it is no longer on there, so I dont know if they sell it anymore.  There may be some lying around collecting dust (as mine was).  I just brought my VIP to Guitar Center and started weeding through cases till I found one that fit right (that's how I know it wont fit in a PRS case).  Plus you'll get all the GC geeks to oogle over your Warmoth.  :icon_thumright:

Have you thought of building your own? It's not that hard I made one for a friend before. Besides it would be A LOT cheaper. I'm sure if you can build a gorgeous VIP you're ore than capable of building a case for it.

Here are some references for you  :icon_thumright:

Thinking about giving this case a try.  Looks like the neck support is in a better location.  Going to measure up my G&G case tonight and see how the dimesnions compare though

Roadrunner has a case for about $80 (at GC) and the body fits real snug side to side (but you may want to put a small towel at the bottom to help with a little bit of a gap), the neck seems to be supported very well and it will handle an angled neck.  Dont know if I'd put it on a plane, but I would drive with it and feel comfortable.

Is this the roadrunner case you have?

No, that one that came out after mine.  I dont have that strap across the lower part of the neck and the main body area is actually shaped like a strat with horns for a righty or lefty, not just a square area.  I'd post up some pics, but photobucket is completely fooked right now.  I'll get them up asap.
