VIP Case Question

I know this has been brought up before, but a search didn't prove real helpful.  I am curious what cases people have found to work best for their VIP's?  I've got 2 tweed G&G cases for my strats, but want something different for my VIP.  I've been very happy with my tweed cases, and I am digging the looks of the G&G tooled leather case, but I am wondering if anyone has tried the VIP in a G&G tele/strat case?  I could wait for my body and neck to arrive, but I found one for sale right now at a decent price.  Worth a shot to see what others have found I guess!  Does warmoth have a specific case they recommend?

I found where jackthehack told Marko that the VIP will "fit just fine in a strat case".  Marko, is this what you did?  Not sure if Jack meant one of the molded cases or this style...

I have a coffin case that fits my VIP. That model is no longer produced, but the standard coffin case is probably the same size. I never travel with it, so I can't say if it is very sturdy.

I'll definately be gigging with it, so I want something that travels well.  The G&G cases stack well also.  This is the other style/color I am looking at:

only heard good things about these cases. it is just foam, but owning a TRIC case from seagull i know that foam can be just about as tough and hard as a traditional hardcase. plus much lighter. and won't break the bank.

That's not a bad looking case either...gator seems to make some nice stuff.  Their 3 place stage stand looks sweet!

I have this model of Gator case for my strat:

I can vouch for the quality and it works well for my strat.  Tonar is finishing my neck for my VIP but I can test fit the body if you'd like.

If you could, that would be nice.  I would be curious if it fits more snug or lose than the strat in the same case.  I could probably judge based on that.

I just got a G&G case for Christmas and its very nice, a VIP should fit just fine, its more or less a universal case.

I am sorry to report that the Gator case I mentioned will not accomodate a VIP.  The body is about 3/4 of in inch too wide.  The padding under the lining is rigid not spongy so there is no way to squeeze it in.  I guess I'll be looking for a new case too.  Could you please post what you end up with?

LOL.  Still hoping to be able to use the G&G case myself.  But would feel better knowing someone else has and it fits, before ordering one.  If no one posts up about it, I will just wait for the guitar to arrive and check it out.

Rouse, do you have a VIP that you could verify this?  Otherwise, will someone post the body dimensions so I can measure the case I currently have?

Looks like game on for the G&G case.  Found this picture:

And it looks to be a tweed G&G case.

Looks right to me.  definately snug on the sides.  The body end of the case has a large cut out for the strap button, which makes it look loose I think.  I could be wrong though.

I definately agree...I've got 2 tweed G&G cases already for each of my strats.  They are definately nice!

Rather than start a completely new thread, I figured I would resurrect my original thread.  I bought a G&G case for my VIP, but it fits poorly.  Curious if anyone has found a case that fits the VIP better?  My guitar is super tight and the neck is not supported near the headstock unless I put a rag under it.

Roadrunner has a case for about $80 (at GC) and the body fits real snug side to side (but you may want to put a small towel at the bottom to help with a little bit of a gap), the neck seems to be supported very well and it will handle an angled neck.  Dont know if I'd put it on a plane, but I would drive with it and feel comfortable.
