The Showcase Alder Velocity body that I ordered on 3/19 arrived.  I am going to use a Vega-Trem bridge.  I was going to put the bridge on my Fender Jeff Beck Strat, but it's playing so well I didn't want to mess it up so I bought this body to put it on.  Next up deciding on some pickups. I'll probably use Tru-oil on the body.

Just looked on their website, but can't find it....

What is the string spacing used?

Edit....just found it. It's 10.7mm

I am hoping to finally finish this guitar up this summer. Life happens... I ended up painting it grey, and am going to paint a flag silhouette, then add the organizational groups I served under. and then finally answer that question about if I like the VegaTrem. I have Dimarzio Transition humbuckers that will be installed, and recently ordered a Warmoth Rosewood scalloped neck to use with this guitar.

I went to install the Vega-Trem, but realized that I needed a claw for the spings since it didn't come with it. So hoping in the next week to install the pickups and bridge. Then attached a Warmoth neck to it while I wait the one I ordered a month and a half ago that will be used for this guitar.

Strung up the battle axe using a Warmoth Brazilian Ebony Neck that I put on a Warmoth Chambered Strat I built 4 years ago and setup the Vega-Trem bridge. It was very easy to setup and can do all that they say. Looking forward to stretching the springs more.

Found that this video to help with understanding more about setting up the bridge.

Really enjoying this Rosewood scalloped neck and the SRV profile. I've never tried a scalloped neck or the profile before, but figure it would be worth finding out. The only thing I have an issue is with the first 3 frets - trying not fret with the same pressure like I would do with a normal neck, just need to work it. I see why Ritchie Blackmore's neck wasn't as scalloped on those frets.

The Vega trem is the best trem in the world. Look up guitar nut buster. It’s a locking nut that floats on the strings behind the nut so no mods needed. It works perfectly on my guitars. Stays in tune better than a Floyd rose original with locking nut.

Interesting. how much extra weight does it add to the neck?
