SSSO I'm new to the forum and Ive been wanting to build a new guitar. I'm a lefty player which sucks  when it comes to guitars. Not as much as it used since the advent of the CNC machine in guitar manufacturing, but it still makes finding a guitar a bit difficult. So I've always had guitars custom made or Ive pieced my own together. I've had the idea to do a scratch build for a little while now but I know it's going to be a long mistake filled, learning process and know I will be impatient, since I'm so jouncing for something new. So I thought I'll build one with finished parts to keep me satisfied while I build one from scratch.
I purchased a finished Velocity body, neck and a bunch of the typical parts and I'll be doing my first build in close to 30 years! I'm excited about it and will be posting pics here once i get it going and finished! I'll probably have some questions too!

Ah, sounds like a fun undertaking. Looking forward to your posts & pics. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! Good choice for a build. The Velocity is a nice design that's very comfortable to play. You may end up so pleased you don't bother building anything else.

Yeah, I'm kidding. Yer doomed. Nobody can build just one  :laughing7:

Thanks for the welcome. I wish I had pics but I won't have anything for another month most likely. On this one I'm replying hard on the skills of Warmoth since i ordered it finished and I just ordered the neck on Friday which form most accounts Ive read up to now seem like they are almost "plug and play", though I'm preparing to do a fret dressing, leveling etc. if required. So here are my basic specs....

BODY

roasted swamp ash chambered
KOA top
black binding
clear gloss finish
hardtail string through body
neck and bridge humbuckers
3 position switch single tone and volume

NECK

Warhead-reverse head
vintage modern
roasted maple
Ebony fretboard
10-16 compound radius
abalone dots and side dots
stainless frets

Well, the build is done! Well, almost. I need to adjust the nut before I can do a final set up, and Im waiting for my pick up ring screws to get here, but the rest is done.

Very nice! Although, it appears those dingbats down at the drugstore loaded your film backwards in the picture-maker thingamajig, so the image got reversed. Fortunately, we have the technology to right such wrongs...

Thank goodness, eh?  :icon_biggrin:

Lovely piece of gear you have assembled.  You should be proud of your choices and rejoice in the beauty.  Nice work.
